Butte, MT (February 1, 2018)

We are pleased to announce that the Butte Local Development Corporation (BLDC), along with the Business For Montana’s Outdoors and Governors Office of Outdoor Recreation, will be hosting the first annual Butte Outdoor Sector Summit March 8th in the conference room at Butte Brewing Company.

We all know how fortunate we are in Butte to be surrounded by an incredible amount of outdoor recreation opportunities. In every direction there are wild rivers, miles of trails, and public lands to hunt and enjoy every outdoor activity you could possibly imagine. What do these resources do for our local economy? How can we capitalize on this resource to grow our community? We have reached out to statewide experts to share what they know about the outdoor economy, as well as a panel of business leaders who understand the importance of the outdoors for their businesses.

The meeting will consist of presentations from Marne Hayes (Business for Montana’s Outdoors), Rachel Vandervoot (Governors Office of Outdoor Recreation), and a panel of businesses from throughout Southwestern Montana. Our community has repeatedly expressed the importance of outdoor recreation and how the abundance of options is one of the truly unique characteristics of Butte. We are excited to expand the conversation and see how we can leverage these resources for the future growth and benefit of our residents, businesses and local economy.
