February 2018 Message from the Executive Director | Butte Local Development Corporation

We’re almost a month in to 2018 and things have been going great here at the BLDC. The year has began with us conducting our annual planning session and developing the initiatives we want to see in 2018. The first initiative we will be tackling will be supporting our great outdoor industry with Butte Outdoor Sector Summit (B.O.S.S.) on March 8, 2018. The meeting will include discussion with representatives from the Business for Montana’s Outdoors, Montana Governor’s Office of Outdoor Recreation, as well as several outdoor recreation manufacturers and small business owners from around the region. The B.O.S.S. will focus on how we can leverage our incredible outdoor resources to benefit local businesses. We all know the importance of the outdoor economy in Montana, and it is particularly important in Butte. This will be a public event and we welcome all to attend.

In an effort to increase the number of Young Professionals in our community, the Butte Young Professionals chapter will be hosting the statewide Montana Young Professionals summit this summer, June 21-23. The event will bring in well over 100 young professionals to our community while discussing the many advantages of being in Montana. This is an incredible opportunity to showcase our area to young leaders from around the state. More details will be announced in the coming weeks.

We’re very optimistic about what we will be achieving in 2018 and are incredibly excited to work with all of you as partners. It is through your support that we are able to lead the community’s economy forward, and we cannot thank you enough for that help!
