Eligibility Requirements for Developers

Developers must plan to locate within the economic development or special tax district.

Any developer who wishes to apply for tax increment assistance must enter into an assessment/development agreement with the local government.

The South Butte Targeted Economic Development District was created in 2017 to work on infrastructure deficiencies and stimulate economic development in the area between South Parkmont Road and Fat Jack Road, along Basin Creek Road.

Approved in 2014, the URA promotes redevelopment and stimulation of investment in Uptown Butte. The URA encompasses the area north of 2nd Street, east of South Jackson Street, south of Boardman Street and west of Arizona Street. Matching grants and low interest loans are available to help fund property redevelopment and infrastructure projects.

State authorized in 2019, the Harrison Avenue South Urban Renewal District directs property tax dollars to fund community and economic development in the area south of Sampson Street, west of Howard Street, north of Sunset Road and east of Warren Avenue. The district’s board focuses on creating a thriving commercial center with mixed uses in the area.
