Mining City Mud is a coffee kiosk located on the corner of Platinum and Excelsior Streets started by Elizabeth Carpenter in August of 2016. The miner’s cottage kiosk and authentic mine cart out front, coupled with the authentic Butte branding create a locally owned and operated coffee solution for your on the go needs. Elizabeth Carpenter is another example of entrepreneurism appearing in the Mining City, as the former stay-at-home mom and basketball coach ventured into the adventure of a new business. Carpenter’s mother, a former nurse at St. Vincent’s hospital in Billings, is also an employee at the kiosk, forming a strong family bond in the Mining City Mud business.

Mining City Mud uses the highest quality ingredients, right down to the water! A true supporter of Montana mad products, Mining City Mud’s coffee is roasted by Fieldheads Coffee in Bigfork, organic Tipus Chai made in Polson, and Wheat Montana bagels made in Three Forks. Other menu items include espresso, steamers, hot chocolate, teas, blended drinks, bagels, and the popular Bubble Tea (a drink originating in Taiwan containing small tapioca pearls).

Mining City Mud is open Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., perfect for your early morning and afternoon pickup! You can visit them at 600 S. Excelsior St. in Uptown Butte.
